Join a 48-hour marathon to innovate and compete for a $2,000 cash prize!
Gear up for the fourth annual University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center Makerthon, set to take place in the Innevation Center Makerspace located at 450 Sinclair St., Reno, NV, 89501. Just two miles south of the University's main campus, this cutting-edge facility will be the hub of innovation from April 12th to April 14th, 2024.
Starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 12th, teams of students from local high schools, community colleges, and the University of Nevada, Reno will embark on a thrilling 48-hour journey of creativity and ingenuity. The clock ticks as all product fabrication ceases at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 14th. Teams are permitted to stay in the building until 1 a.m. each night, with a brief hiatus until 6 a.m. the following morning for the next build period. It's a marathon of innovation, with no time for sleep on the premises.
To ensure readiness and compliance, participants must attend one of two pre-event briefings, with a parent or guardian required for those under 18. Safety and responsibility are paramount, especially for our younger innovators. Students from select educational institutions, aged 16 and above, are eligible to apply. Teams must consist of two to six members, and up to six teams will be chosen based on their collective interest and commitment to the competition.

Prize: recognition and a cash award of $2,000 for the champion team.
